Connector / Link
A generic link or adapter node representing a connection point between systems in the diagram.
When to use it
Use a connector to represent a link whose internal role you don't need to detail — a stand-in for "something joins these".
In plain terms
A labeled cable between two boxes when the box in the middle doesn't matter yet.
Common gotchas
- It's a diagram convenience, not a specific product — annotate what it really is when known.
- Overusing connectors can hide real transformation steps.
- Replace it with a concrete system once the design firms up.
