Custom System
A user-defined system for anything the standard palette doesn't cover — a bespoke application, script, or third-party tool.
When to use it
Use a custom system when a real component doesn't fit the built-in types; give it a clear label.
In plain terms
The "other" box you write your own name on.
Common gotchas
- Label it precisely — "Custom" alone tells a newcomer nothing.
- Document its protocol and transport explicitly; nothing is assumed.
