Process / Transform

A processing or transform step — a stage that reshapes, validates, or enriches data rather than a system that stores it.

When to use it

Use a Process node to make a transformation or business rule visible as its own step in the flow.

In plain terms

A stop on the assembly line where the item is modified before moving on.

Common gotchas

  • Processes represent logic, not a box on the network — note where the logic actually runs (often the engine).
  • Make the input/output difference explicit.
  • Don't let it become a catch-all for undocumented magic.
