File / Folder
Exchange by reading and writing files in a shared folder — the sender drops a file, the receiver polls and picks it up.
When to use it
For batch exports/imports, or systems that only speak files rather than live connections.
In plain terms
Leaving documents in a shared drop-box for the other side to collect.
Common gotchas
- Polling adds latency; there's no instant delivery.
- Partial-file reads are a classic bug — use temp names or done-markers.
- After-processing (delete/move) must be defined or files reprocess or pile up.
